We made it all in one piece!
Overnight flights are never fun, and I slept off and on, though not very restfully.
But when we began our decent and we dropped below the cloud layer revealing the snow covered terrain – I was giddy!
We are in winter wonderland!
Baggage was claimed and we gathered for instruction to make our way toward our bus ---and we began our journey south east of Munich to our first destination, Ruhpolding.
Our group was eager to explore the town, and Jim West, our guide, lead us off to discover shops, and quaint bakeries ---even a late farmers market with stalls for baked goods, cheese, fresh meats and other yummies!

It wasn’t a long walk-about – we were just biding our time until the restaurant opened in our hotel so we could be fed and put to bed to catch up on lost sleep!

Tonight we are meeting for dinner together and we’ll spend our first night tucked in and warm in Ruhpolding, Germany!
