Working on your pattern 9 in the middle. Was a leader ender but is now my main project as I have nothing else prepped for today. Love watching you. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing, Fiona, I love seeing your set up!

It’s a Quicky Quilt-Cam night!

I head for the airport at the bright hour of 4am tomorrow on my way to Colorado Springs, and this girl still needs to pack the trunk show and suitcase and get to bed!

During the last Quilt-Cam we talked about having a hand-crank night – and I think tonight is a great night to do it.

You might think it is difficult to steer with one hand while turning the hand crank with the other, but just like working the treadle with your feet, you get used to it.

Paper piecing is a great way to get used to cranking with the right hand and steering fabric with the left --- there is a line to sew on, it’s easy to be accurate, and the seams are short.

If you are just learning to work a hand-crank or have wanted to try one, this might be the project for you!

I am sewing 2” cornerstones for my Cheddar Sampler quilt---still in progress, with one leg half in the time-out box, and one leg out!

Click the free patterns tab at the top of the blog for the 2” square in a square foundations and information on how to correctly print them.

I need at LEAST 47 cornerstones.  So far..I have 23.  You can see that I have pinned two bundles of 10 together – it makes them easy to count that way.

Bobbin winder disengaged.

I will likely need to wind a bobbin sometime during Quilt-Cam.  I only have ONE bobbin for this machine – I haven’t stopped to locate any others ---one is sufficient for now.  To wind, I will swivel that rubber wheel up against the hand wheel so it engages like this:

See the lion decal on the pillar? Love this machine!

We will go about an hour ---morning is going to come bright and early, but I’m in the mood to sew, aren’t you?
