Today's blog title is appropriate for the card I am about to show you. You will have to keep scrolling down past the first 2 photo's to understand what I mean.

Let's view the first photo:


Notice the "Vellum" circle with the embossed "Merry & Bright" sentiment? The reason I embossed the sentiment on Vellum is because this card comes with a little something extra special, keep scrolling:


Add a little disposable candle to the inside of the card as shown below:


And you have a card that lights up! The candle is flameless and operates with a battery. Once the battery is gone, you throw out the candle. No danger of fires in your home!


Okay, lets discuss the card a little more. I first cut a hole in my Early Espresso Cardstock front with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch about 1/2" from the left side edge. I then glued a piece of DSP from Holly Berry Bouquet to the card front by centering. Flip the card over and re-cut the 2 1/2" hole through the DSP with the punch. Prepare a piece of Vellum Cardstock larger than the hole you created with your circle punch and emboss the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder using your Heat Tool. Be careful not to overheat the Vellum. Glue the Vellum Cardstock in place behind the circle, sitting inside the card.

For the poinsettia's, I used the 5-Petal Flower Punch and cut 6 with Red Glimmer Paper. Pierce a hole in the center of all six flowers. Stack 2 together and add a Gold Glimmer Brad in the center. Repeat until you complete 3 flowers. Bend each petal towards the center to create dimension. Glue in place on your card using Tombow Mono-Adhesive Glue. Cut 2 more flowers using Wild Wasabi Cardstock. Cut the flowers in half and glue by tucking under the poinsettias to form the leaves.

The final step to the card is to add the Silver Glass Glitter around the Vellum Cardstock. I added a thin line of glue using Tombow Mono-Adhesive and gently pressed the Glass Glitter in place. Shake off excess.
