Fussy cutting.......I know the minute some of my girls read those first two words they will go .....ewwww...I find fussy cutting very relaxing. As some of you know, my husband and I are self-employed and travel quite a bit during the week. Our customers don't come to us....we go to them. So in those travels, I sometimes will bring a baggie of stamped images for a project I am working on and fussy cut while we travel.

Today is Day #4 of my 12 Days of Christmas. I have for you a Stair Step Card and a Box #2 project:

Stair step cards are really fun to make and this one was no exception. I wanted to keep it simple by just focusing on the poinsettia image of the stamp set I chose for this project:

I fussy cut a lot of these buggers. First they were all embossed with the Pewter Embossing Powder and my Heat Tool. I then used a Blender Pen and my Watercolor Crayons and tinted the very center of each poinsettia with a pinkish tone. I then added Pearl Jewels to each flower:

The Very Vanilla Velvet Designer Ribbon edged with delicate stitching will give detail and interest to your holiday cards. Because I was trying to stay simple and elegant at the same time on this card, the velvet ribbon works perfectly to adorn the bottom of my card. I created a triple bow for this card.

I used a scallop for my poinsettia's backdrop by cutting a Whisper White Cardstock piece with the Scallop Square Die and my Big Shot Machine. I like how the Pear Pizzazz Ink really stands out. I sponged the ink along the edges and gently swirled some around the stamped images. I did the same for the sentiment.

Now on to my box:

Peek on page 37 of the Idea Book & Catalog as there is a photo of a box like this one with a bow on the top. I've wanted to recreate this bow for quite some time now. I created it in the same way as pictured except I pinched the ends of each loop. It was quite easy actually. Each triple loop has a cardstock piece of 3", 4" and 5" all 3/4" wide.

Thank you for visiting me again today. I have a new set for tomorrow's Day #5. Please make sure you stop in!
